
GS1 Sweden releases new features in the Link management service. Brand owners who use 2D codes with GS1 standards now have increased opportunities for efficiency in the value chain through targeted recalls and better traceability.
Link management is a web-based service for managing links to additional information about your products. The service is included in the GS1 Company Prefix subscription and makes it easier for you to use the next generation of 2D codes to label your products and link the products to the web.
New features are now available on the service and you can now:
- Make more targeted recalls. With the update, you can now create recall information at batch level. Your consumers can then scan the 2D code on the product during a recall to see if it applies to their particular product. This means you can send targeted recalls, instead of recalling everything.
- Create an auto-generated product page. If you sell consumer products in Sweden but do not have a product page, you can now get an automatically generated product page through Link management. The information is retrieved in Validoo and facilitates the transition to the next generation of 2D code with GS1 Digital Link as you do not need to build your own product information pages. More detailed information about products is also something that is requested in future sustainability legislation.
- Share important information linked to locations. You can now provide your Global Location Numbers (GLN ) with more information through digital links. This can be, for example, certificates, sustainability data for buildings, or information important for transporters.
