Service description – Validoo Receiver

1. Service overview

Validoo Receiver is GS1 Sweden’s service for companies and organizations that want to subscribe to and receive launched article information, product images and planogram images from suppliers.

2. Target audience and users

Validoo Receiver is aimed at recipients of trade item information from suppliers, such as retailers and distributors, for various business or logistics purposes.

3. Service content

The service includes:

  • Access to launched products with associated article information and quality-assured product images according to GS1 standards.
  • Automatic validation according to GS1 standard for trade item information.
  • Management of information and images for planograms.

4. Features

Other features include:

  • statistical reports
  • export to Excel
  • administration of internal users

5. Usage

Recipients can access trade item information and product images by either retrieving the information manually via Validoo’s interface, or by activating subscriptions to selected suppliers’ GLN (Global Location Number). Once a subscription is created, Validoo provides the recipient with available images and item information for launched products.

A subscription includes:

  • Trade item information up to the highest orderable level.
  • Quality-assured product images (market images and planogram images).
  • Automatic updates when new information becomes available.

Subscription can be created for:

  • a supplier’s entire range
  • parts of a supplier’s range
  • specific product categories

A company that wants to receive trade item information must actively create subscriptions in Validoo. Without active subscriptions, the trade item information will not be forwarded, even if a supplier has sent trade item information to the specific recipient.

5.1. Usage options

  1. Use the Validoo interface to search for and download images and trade item information at the highest orderable level.
  2. Integrate your system with Validoo and get information and images in a customised flow.
  3. Use our APIs to automatically download item information and images directly to your system.

6. Prerequisites for using the service

The service requires:

  • A GLN (Global Location Number) from a GS1 organization.
  • A contract for Validoo Receiver and compliance with the terms and conditions.

7. Management, operation and support

  • Standard updates: GS1 Sweden adheres to global GS1 standards and upgrades the service with each new GDSN version release, typically 3-4 times a year.
  • Continuous development: New features are developed continuously and prioritized according to complexity and customer benefit.
  • Operation: The service is normally available 24 hours a day, with some periods of planned outages for maintenance.
  • Support: GS1 Sweden’s Customer Service is available by phone and e-mail Monday-Friday.
