Two methods may be used:
A. By using the Component class
If a composite trade item contains components that do not have individual GTINs and ingredients lists for each component are clearly presented on the package, the ingredients lists for each component should be registered individually.
B. Without using the Component class
If a composite trade item contains sub-items that do not have individual GTINs, the ingredients list for each sub-item should be registered individually, one after another.
For example: A package contains both serrano ham and sausage. Ingredients should be entered as: “INGREDIENTS: Serrano ham: Salt, E252 preservative Chorizo: Pork, salt, spices, E120 food colouring”
Read more about how to use the Component class in the Trade Item Information Guideline.
Note: Some data recipients are unable to receive data provided via the Component class. In such cases use method B above.
