To calculate a check digit for a Restricted Circulation Number, use the following steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Start with the digit 2<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. The next digit should be between 0-5 depending on whether you are labeling your product with weight or price and on the number of decimals. The number 3, for example, means total weight with three decimals.<\/li>\n
  3. After that, enter the number (the GS1 Variable Weight Prefix) that you have received from GS1 Sweden, three or four digits.<\/li>\n
  4. Then enter a sequence number of your choice. The serquence number can be between 00-99 or 000-999 depending on whether your variable weight prefix can create numbers for 100 or 1000 unique products.<\/li>\n
  5. Finally, enter the digits “0000” where the weight or price is supposed to be.<\/li>\n
  6. Click on “Calculate” to obtain the number, including check digit for the GTIN, to be registered in Validoo.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    NOTE!<\/strong> This GTIN is for trade item information registration only and should not be used on the label of the actual product. On the product, weight or price should be automatically calculated for the GTIN and another check digit should also be automatically calculated.
