GS1 Digital Link is a standard that increases the flexibility of GS1-identifiers by defining how different GS1-standards are encoded into web addresses (URI \/ URL), and connects the identifier to the web.<\/p>\n

This means that GS1-identifiers, such as GTIN, now provide access to consumer-oriented information, which increases the possibility of strengthened brand loyalty, improved traceability information for the supply chain, connection through business partners’ APIs, patient safety information and much more. The possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n

Where a URL usually points to a single specific website, the URI syntax of GS1 Digital Link can be linked to all types of B2B and B2C-information. If you tag your product with a QR-code with GS1 Digital Link, the 2D-code will provide a URL that anyone can scan, while wearing a GS1-identifier – the same identifier used throughout the industry.
