The unique number is used by companies who want to identify locations and parties in the supply chain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Physical locations<\/strong>, such as warehouses, dock doors and ports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mobile locations<\/strong>, such as an ambulance or a food truck.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Functions<\/strong>, such as Sales or Accounting departments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legal entities<\/strong>, for exemple a company or subsidiary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Digital locations<\/strong>, such as systems for electronic messages (EDI).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"H2561\">Who uses GLN?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many industries and the public sector use Global Location Numbers. Your company can use it to search in <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/verified-by-gs1\/\">Verified by GS1<\/a> and can, in addition to contact and address information, also
