The standard helps those who do business globally to group products in the same way, everywhere in the world. Buyers and sellers use GPC to coherently communicate reliable and structured information in their product flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The benefits of GPC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gives buyers and sellers a common language for talking about their products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improves product data accuracy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speeds up the supply chain responsiveness to consumer needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simplifies reporting across product categories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How is GPC used?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>GPC product class category is used within the product data network <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-data-synchronisation-network-gdsn\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"3691\">GDSN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-trade-item-information\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"6700\">GS1Trade Item Information <\/a>. Classification makes it easier to search for and organize your products when you, for example, look at sales statistics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the GPC Search tool on the GS1 global website to search for code values for product class. You can choose to search in the tool in Swedish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Search for product codes in GPC Search<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You produce an item&#8217;s product class by in turn selecting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Segments<\/strong> that are the overall grouping of product families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Family<\/strong> that is the group of related product categories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Class<\/strong> that is a group of items with the same use or function.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brick<\/strong>  that is a group of items or services with the same characteristics.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<section class=\"section-facts p-3 mb-5 mt-4 gs1-background-color-ui-1 ml-n3 mr-n3\">\n\n  <div class=\"row\">\n    <div class=\"col mb-3\">\n      <h3>Example<\/h3>\n      <p><div>\n<div>Product class for vinegar is 10000051 because:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Segment &#8211;
