GS1 Sweden has contributed to the development of Linnaeus University’s new course Digital product passports for sustainable value chains<\/em><\/a>. The course is the first in Sweden to combine academic research, practical elements and the needs of the business community – an important step as the EU’s requirements for digital product passports (DPP) approach. The course is part of the Expert Competence Smart Industry initiative, which aims to strengthen Swedish competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n

As EU requirements tighten, the need for knowledge increases <\/h2>\n\n

Digital product passports will be a key part of the EU’s work towards more sustainable and transparent value chains. The upcoming EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) will increase the demand for reliable and traceable product data. <\/p>\n\n

Many companies today are looking for both guidance and practical examples. This course meets that need by showing how EU requirements can be translated into real data flows, system solutions and value chains. <\/p>\n\n

About the course <\/h2>\n\n

The course is given as a stand-alone course of 3 credits at Linnaeus University in V\u00e4xj\u00f6. It is aimed at people with a bachelor’s degree or professionals with equivalent experience. <\/p>\n\n

The course is funded by the Knowledge Foundation and has been developed in close collaboration with industry and ecosystem partners such as Sigma Technology, Lingon, Interior Cluster Sweden and GS1 Sweden. <\/p>\n\n
