Amazon has now launched amazon.se and to become a seller on the marketplace your company needs to use GS1 standards.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your products need to be equipped with the right digital information and barcodes to be sold on this online giant. To get ready for Amazon, Staffan Olsson, who is responsible for Marketplaces<\/a> at GS1 Sweden, will answer five questions about how to succeed with your product listing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the benefits for me as a seller who uses GS1 standards<\/strong>?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 To begin with, GTINs increases the number of conversions\/purchases <\/strong>when the product gets better visibility. You also gain increased consumer trust since unique GTINs means that products can’t be confused. I am certain most of us have bought an item online that turned out to be for example the wrong product or the wrong size. GTINs also helps with searchability and exposure on the web such as price comparison sites and on Google Shopping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What GS1 standards does Amazon require?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Amazon requires you to use GS1 barcodes and GTINs to uniquely identify your products. The same requirements also apply to many other marketplaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can GS1 standards help boost my sales?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Yes! GTIN uniquely identifies your product among products in the world in the same way that an ID-card or passport can identify people. This allows consumers to be certain that they are clicking on the right product. GTINs also helps you appear in search results on price comparison sites and in Google Shopping ads. For you as a seller this means better customer satisfaction and more clicks on the buy button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not a GS1 customer. How do I start?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 You need to join GS1<\/a> and then start assigning identification numbers (GTINs) and barcoding your products. You also need to start preparing your product images on time according to Amazon’s image requirements.
