{"id":5726,"date":"2020-07-11T07:51:47","date_gmt":"2020-07-11T07:51:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gs1.se\/your-industry\/technical-industry\/"},"modified":"2024-08-15T11:47:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-15T09:47:33","slug":"technical-industry","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/your-industry\/technical-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Technical industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GS1 standards in the technical industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>GS1 standards for identifying, capturing and sharing information about products, transport and services enable companies in the technical industry \u2013 including both the defense and energy industries as well as the transport and mining industries \u2013 to gain complete transparency in the value chain and thereby streamline processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the industrial sector, the focus is on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop smart factories (Industry 4.0) including innovative technology, spare part management and automation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable direct marking on products and serialization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Streamline maintenance, repair and reviews.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a unique identification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase and streamline traceability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>GS1 standards drive interoperability in the industrial sector, leading to increased efficiency and reduced costs. From the purchase of components, to the finished product, every step of the supply chain can be secured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standards in use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Standards used in industry include <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-trade-item-number-gtin\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"4581\">GTIN <\/a>for identifying products, <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-individual-asset-identifier-giai\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"4767\">GIAI<\/a> for identifying assets and equipment, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-location-number-gln\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"5068\">GLN<\/a> to identify the location of different assets. These are mainly transferred to <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-datamatrix\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"4351\">GS1 DataMatrix<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/epc-rfid\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"6315\">EPC\/RFID<\/a> to increase transparency in the industrial process. <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/serial-shipping-container-code-sscc\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"5021\"> SSCC <\/a>are used for transports and <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-128\/\" data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"4577\">GS1-128 <\/a> to track deliveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participate in and influence the development of GS1 standards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At GS1 our standards are developed and maintained together with our customers. In our <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/about-us\/user-groups\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"6239\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">user groups<\/a> you can be involved and influence our standards and processes.
