On the upper part of the retail and customer package label, addresses of recipients and senders of the logistic unit should be stated in plain text. Here you can also add transport instructions and information to the carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The store’s or customer’s information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The upper part of the retail and customer pack label provides customer-specific information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Plain text information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The barcode on the label sometimes becomes unreadable and therefore the information contained in the barcode should also always be given in plain text. The middle part of the label is reserved for the plain text information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the middle part of the label standardized descriptions are used, known as “Data Titles”, to indicate the type of information contained in the plain text. Examples of Data Titles are “SSCC” or “BATCH\/LOT”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barcoded information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The lower part of the label contains the barcode information. The barcode GS1-128 should be used on the label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The barcode should always contain the SSCC of the logistic unit. When a retail and customer pack label is used together with a pallet label and\/or a transport label, the same SSCC should be specified on both labels, or only one of the labels should contain the SSCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
GS1-128 includes so-called application identifiers (AI). They describe the type of information contained in the barcode. An application identifier consists of two to four digits and is printed in parentheses below the barcode along with the information it describes.
