GSIN meets the requirements for UCR (Unique Consignment Reference) according to the World Customs Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-preparations\">Preparations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To create a GSIN, you need a <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-company-prefix\/\">GS1 Company Prefix<\/a> which gives your company and items a unique identity, or a Single number. The GS1 identifiers you create with the company prefix can then be used worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Order a <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/guides\/join-gs1-sweden\/\">GS1 Company Prefix or a Single number.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-create-gsin\">Create GSIN<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The GSIN consists of 17 digits. You create GSINs using your GS1 company prefix, a sequence number and a check digit, or with a Single number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Enter your <strong>GS1 Company prefix<\/strong> consisting of 6-9 digits or a Single number consisting of 12 digits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a <strong>sequence number<\/strong>. We recommend that you number the units so that the first units included in the same shipment are numbered &#8220;&#8230;001&#8221;, the second units are numbered &#8220;&#8230;002&#8221;, and so on.<em> <\/em><strong>Please note<\/strong> that you must keep track of which sequence numbers you use as this is not recorded by us<em>.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, you should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gs1.se\/Support\/Berakna-kontrollsiffra\/\">calculate<\/a> and enter a <strong>check digit.<\/strong> The check digit cannot be determined for itself and must be calculated<em>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"435\" height=\"131\" src=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-gsin-eng.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46816\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-gsin-eng.png 435w, https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-gsin-eng-300x90.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the company prefix has fewer than nine digits, create the shipping number in the same way as above, but the serial number will have more than seven digits.<\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"section-facts p-3 mb-5 mt-4 gs1-background-color-ui-1 ml-n3 mr-n3\">\n\n  <div class=\"row\">\n    <div class=\"col mb-3\">\n      <h3><\/h3>\n      <p><p>When you subscribe to a GS1 Company Prefix from GS1 Sweden, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/guides\/how-to-guides\/generate-numbers-in-mygs1\/\">Generate Number<\/a> service, which helps you to create <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-trade-item-number-gtin\/\">GTIN<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-location-number-gln\/\">GLN,<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/serial-shipping-container-code-sscc\/\">\u00a0SSCC <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-shipment-identification-number-gsin\/\">GSIN<\/a>, is included.
