SSCC enables manufacturers, suppliers, carriers, buyers and consumers to track a logistics unit from manufacturing to the end customer. This can be used, among other things, for freight tracking, inventory management and for more efficient handling regarding transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-preparations\">Preparations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To create an SSCC, your company first needs a <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-company-prefix\/\">GS1 Company prefix <\/a>which gives your company and your items a unique identity. The GS1 identifiers that you create with the company prefix can then be used worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Order a <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/guides\/join-gs1-sweden\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"6205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GS1 Company Prefix.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-create-sscc\">Create SSCC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An SSCC consists of 18 digits that you create using your <a data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"3596\" href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/gs1-company-prefix\/\">GS1 Company prefix<\/a>, a sequence number, and a check digit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Select and enter an <strong>extension digit<\/strong> between 0-9.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>GS1 Company prefix<\/strong> consisting of 6-9 digits or 12 digits if you are using Single Numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give your package a <strong>sequence number.<\/strong> We recommend that you number your packages so that the first one gets the number &#8220;&#8230; 001&#8221;, the second gets the number &#8220;&#8230; 002&#8221;, and so on. <strong>Note<\/strong> that you must keep track of the sequence numbers you use since this is not recorded by ussomething that is registered with us.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, <a data-type=\"product\" data-id=\"7128\" href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/check-digit-calculator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calculate<\/a> and enter a <strong>check digit.<\/strong> The check digit cannot be determined by yourself, it must be calculated. <strong>Note <\/strong>that you must calculate a new check digit for each new SSCC number you create.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"131\" src=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-sscc.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46826\" style=\"width:466px;height:131px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-sscc.png 466w, https:\/\/gs1.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/create-sscc-300x84.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 466px) 100vw, 466px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<section class=\"section-facts p-3 mb-5 mt-4 gs1-background-color-ui-1 ml-n3 mr-n3\">\n\n  <div class=\"row\">\n    <div class=\"col mb-3\">\n      <h3><\/h3>\n      <p><p>When you subscribe to a GS1 Company Prefix from GS1 Sweden, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/guides\/how-to-guides\/generate-numbers-in-mygs1\/\">Generate Number<\/a> service, which helps you to create <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-trade-item-number-gtin\/\">GTIN<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-location-number-gln\/\">GLN,<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/serial-shipping-container-code-sscc\/\"> SSCC<\/a> och <a href=\"https:\/\/gs1.se\/en\/standards-and-services\/global-shipment-identification-number-gsin\/\">GSIN<\/a>, is included.
